The Royal Art Lodge was a place where Marcel Dzama and friends hung out and made art. I don’t know what else happened there. I bet they also watched a good amount of teen comedies (all the American Pies, for example, also probably Accepted and Meatballs), drank tequila and played music while wearing halloween masks. I remember tons of people making Marcel Dzama-type art in school, and some still do. It’s the kind of thing where you know he’s already done it better, but you just can’t help yourself. Here are some pieces from the Lodge from their website.
