Ghirlandaio Portraits

Filed under: Art History, Painting — norulesnoshame @ 13:50

Portraits by Domenico Ghirlandaio, not to be confused with Ridolfo Ghirlandaio, who also happened to paint portraits in almost the same style. Can you imagine what would happen if they wore the same dress to the prom? Escandalo!

Personal work by Spanish designer Valero Doval. I love those bird/planes and the circus pets.

I saw the Conceal Project at Baltimore’s School 33, and was drawn into the grid and the little portraits. They’re watercolors, but the figures are so grotesque, you forget they’re made with this incredibly delicate medium. My favorite, the little Hitler, is nowhere to be found on the internets. There’s also a girl with what appears to be a PacMan head that was quite nice.

Big Trouble in Little China

I couldn’t help it. Once I’m on a Kim Cattrall roll… why not add in Kurt Russell? I love him. I also love Big Trouble in Little China for being so awesomely ridiculous. I love it so much.

What, no sequel?

Mannequin: The Movie

Filed under: Design, Genius, Love[r]ly, Performance, The Uncanny, Video — norulesnoshame @ 00:37

Stills from the movie Mannequin. The best part is Hollywood, who prances around and steals the show from all the object love.

Did you know you can buy both Mannequin AND Mannequin 2: On the Move?
