Matt Duffin

Matt Duffin uses encaustic (that’s painting with wax) to express “human themes of solitude and irony”. I did not know irony was a human theme. Sidenote: I want to guess that encaustic is a difficult medium, because every time I hear about it, the tone used is one of wonder and astonishment. For example, “He uses encaustic!” You don’t see that with acrylics. Poor acrylics.
