Carrie Schneider

When I first saw Carrie Schneider’s work, I was drawn in, mostly because it felt so familiar. My friends and I have also made photo series about being part of a double (or a couple, or a duo if that makes more sense). And I want to make myself clear, I find these images interesting. But the more I looked at them, the more distant I felt from them and from the artist. They are too cool, too “contemporary”, even too familiar, and the main subject (the artist herself, most likely) might even be too pretty for the vulnerability she is trying to portray (sorry, Carrie). Maybe I need more time. You be the judge.
