Rap Rap Chess

Lately, I’ve been spending a bunch of time helping my dad move out of the house I grew up in. This past week, I unearthed some gems from my childhood. There was a box of like, thirty thousand sketchbooks from elementary school, with each page featuring a drawing of a woman with a huge forehead and large breasts. There are some crude illustrations of Michael (“Michel”) Jackson from that era, as well. He has boobs too. And there was a folder with “WRITING” written really big on the cover in bubble letters, speckled with a bunch of  Lisa Frank’s “dancing conductor bear in a top hat” stickers. The short stories in the folder were pure gold, of course- specifically a dark treatise illuminating the inherent flaws of conventional fairy tale romance entitled “Rapunzal [sic]  & Rad Robby.”

For some reason, finding those stories reminded me of this prolific, anonymous sign poster dude in LA. Can’t believe he doesn’t have an internet nickname yet. Somebody make one up.
